Putty Soap Isn’t So Silly
By Melissa Meisel
A solid liquid soap is the closest way to describe Lush’s latest innovation, Putty for Hands…but it’s not even soap. This solid hand cleanser is a little bit crumbly at times but a unique formulation, nonetheless. Just place it in a larger-sized soap dish to ensure all the pieces stay in the tray.
Targeting those with sensitive skin, there’s an abundance of softening ingredients such as shea butter and marshmallow mucilage, while cornflower and talc ensure a smooth application, said the company in a press release.
There’s no soap base in this one, so don’t sit around waiting for the suds, but it will form a gentle wash to cleanse hands and leave them feeling transformed. Don’t be put off by the color—a steely blue-grey with bits of natural exfoliants.
Key Ingredients also include oat milk, glycerine and a trio of chamomile, lavender and tea tree oil. These three are said to be antiseptic, antibacterial and can help reduce redness.
