Taplast USA Appoints Piagnarelli Sales Director

Taplast USA:
named Alex Piagnarelli U.S. sales director. Piagnarelli brings more than 15 years of sales experience in the packaging industry, having recently held vice president of sales positions with Continental AFA and M&H Plastics. In his new position, he will be responsible for supporting the North American sales and marketing efforts for Taplast’s full line of lotion pumps and dispensing closures.

CPL Aromas: appointed Michael Christoph general manager of CPL Aromas Germany. He has 25 years experience in the fragrance industry and has worked for CPL Aromas for three years as regional key account manager. Prior to CPL Aromas, Christoph worked for Symrise in a number of sales positions.

tapped Thomas Schönen, currently marketing manager brand communication Germany and managing director of Nivea Haus GmbH, to assume responsibility for corporate communications at Beiersdorf AG effective Jan. 1, 2010.

University Medical Pharmaceuticals: appointed Jeffrey Ten as senior vice president, international sales. Ten brings 28 years of international senior management marketing and sales experience from the luxury and consumer packaged goods industry. Before joining University Medical Pharmaceuticals, he was president of ck Calvin Klein beauty.

Murad:
promoted Danny Guez as its senior director of global acquisitions and new business. In this position, he will be responsible for expanding Murad’s business globally, with increased concentration in areas such as South America, India and Russia. Guez will also be responsible for obtaining distribution through developing channels for the Murad massmarket program.

Prior to being named to this new position, he was most recently the regional sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Murad.

Too Faced Cosmetics: named Leah Hundsness senior vice president of international sales and marketing. In this newly created position, she spearheads the brand’s business throughout Europe, UK, Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Hundsness

spent the last five years at Sephora headquarters in Paris in charge of sourcing and marketing brands into Europe, Middle East and most recently Asia. Prior to her tenure at Sephora, Hundsness worked for Smashbox Cosmetics where she helped expand distribution to Europe and Latin America.

Markwins International: added two product designers to the company’s innovation team. Ed Mancia brings more than15 years of beauty and fashion design leadership to the Markwins design team. Mancia, who contributed significantly to Markwins earlier development, has made stops in contemporary fashion design and global beauty development.

Grace Tsai brings an exceptional pedigree of design and fashion with global scope, according to Markwins. She began her training in the global fashion division at Nike. Tsai recently returned from a four-year assignment in Markwins Shenzhen China design campus as chief design manager for youth products.

The Natural Products Association: named John F. Gay executive director and chief executive officer. Gay was most recently senior vice president, government affairs and public policy, for the National Restaurant Association. Gay takes over from Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., who was appointed interim executive director and chief executive officer in August when David Seckman, who had headed the association for more than nine years, left to take a post at the Food Processing Suppliers Association.

Estée Lauder Companies Inc.: restructured its organization with newly created positions. Annemarie Iverson has joined Bobbi Brown in the newly created role of senior vice president, creative brand development. She will be responsible for the development and execution of all branding and creative concepts to ensure a strategic and cohesive brand message, image and philosophy aligning with the brand strategy. Iverson will have direct oversight of all creative areas including product development, design, visual merchandising, store design, digital media and global artistry and education.

Alicia Sontag was appointed to the newly created position of vice president, global marketing, Bobbi Brown.In this role, she will have responsibility for the product marketing, consumer marketing and strategic development for the Bobbi Brown brand.

Sandra Main was hired as global general manager of La Mer and will have the overall responsibility of driving the La Mer business, achieving market-share, growth and profitability targets, in addition to crafting and executing strategy for the brand.She will have responsibility for all creative and business functions within the La Mer brand. In addition to these new responsibilities Main will retain her role as senior vice president, general manager, Bobbi Brown International.

Glenroy, Inc.: promoted Geoff Van Eimeren to Western regional manager. He will be primarily responsible for servicing customers on the West Coast. Van Eimeren brings 25 years of flexible packaging experience to his new position. He joined the manufacturing personnel of Glenroy in 1997 and rose to positions in graphics and account management. Van Eimeren came to Glenroy from Fredman Bag Company, where he served as a graphic arts coordinator.
