Pixi by Petra is one of the designer cosmetic collections available at Target stores nationwide. The Swedish makeup artist's products are known for boasting multi-purpose usages and featuring innovative formulations infused with skin treating ingredients.
For Spring 2011, the brand’s latest debut is the Lip Twin ($18). A bit pricey for a mass-market cosmetic, but the shopper is said to get a dual-usage product, a lipstick and a complementary lip balm for layering. Plus, the product is edible, formulated with 100% natural ingredients such as jojoba oil, avocado, lavender extract, shea butter and aloe vera.
Pixi’s combination packaging includes a lip balm in a tube and a lipstick in the cap. Colors range from Nude Lily to Poppy Red.
Happi tried Coral Camellia, a light pinkish-coral. The lipstick portion rolls on smooth, as it is shaped like a dome. If not careful, the colors can escape the perimeters of the mouth. The pigment is sheer and the taste is of Italian ices or some summertime dessert. Delicious!
Now, here’s the confusing part…the gloss. It is revealed by unscrewing the lipstick “cap” portion…but it has a flat applicator, not a slant tip. Am I missing something here? Can’t seem to apply this gloss without making a mess. I’m going to skip the gloss now, but use the lipstick again for sure.
Pixi is available online at pixibeauty.com and target.com as well as in Target Stores across the nation.
