Wella Patents Disinfection/ Sterilization Method

U.S. Patent No. 7,501,388 B2: Wella has patented a process for destroying a contaminant. The method entails selecting a composition consisting of a mixture prepared by contacting hydrogen peroxide, glycolic acid, isopropyl alcohol and water. The water is present in approximately, by weight, 50% based on the total weight of the hydrogen peroxide, glycolic acid and water, and approximately 99.9% based on the total weight of the hydrogen peroxide, glycolic acid, and water. The composition is then contacted with the contaminant, which is comprised of a material consisting of bacteria and spores.
