In October, Coty Inc. will launch of Adidas Moves for Her, a new women's fragrance. Adidas -- including the successful Adidas Moves for Men introduced by Coty in 1999 -- is already a key brand in Coty's portfolio, and is currently distributed in 32 countries including the U.S. The new women's fragrance leverages the status and worldwide recognition of the Adidas brand name and builds on the strong momentum of Adidas Moves for Him, the year-old men's cologne that has become one of Coty's best-selling fragrances. Coty expects Adidas Moves for Her to be a top selling fragrance for the 2000 fall and holiday shopping season.
Adidas Moves for Her will be sold in more than 16,000 retail outlets in North America. Promotions and a print advertising campaign scheduled to run in national consumer magazines starting in the fall will support the launch.
"Our success with Moves for Him provided an excellent platform to launch a women's fragrance based on the spirit and values of the Adidas brand, explained Peter Harf, chairman. "Adidas is one of our strongest core brands and consumers worldwide are responding positively to grooming products based on the brand. We have high expectations for the Moves for Her launch.'' The new Adidas Moves for Her fragrance is categorized as an energetic citrus floral. The Adidas brand spirit is based on performance, athleticism and vitality, and the new scent supports those values. The top notes of Moves for Her include the following accords: tomato leaf, adrenaline, gingerale, green apple, and the additional ingredients white currant, cyclamen, ozone and tagette. The fragrance's middle notes include an intuition accord, waterfall freesia, rose, geranium, cedarwood and lavender. Dry notes include natural, earthy green, clean musk and sheer woods. Adidas Moves for Her line includes six products: 1.7 fl. oz. eau de toilette spray ($26), 1 fl. oz. spray ($21), .5 fl. oz. spray ($16), .25 fl. oz. introductory sampler spray ($6.95), 6.7 fl. oz. shower gel ($8) and 6.7 fl. oz. body lotion ($8).
