The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) and International Specialty Products (ISP) announced today, the joint signing of a global technology licensing agreement. The agreement involves two P&G hair and skincare product composition patents ISP will use for personal care product applications. The patents apply to Aculyn 44 and 46, a product-thickening agent marketed by ISP and produced by Rohm and Haas under their personal care strategic/marketing alliance. Under the nine-year agreement, ISP will receive worldwide distribution rights for use of the P&G technologies to further expand the Aculyn line of hair and skincare applications across all trade channels.
The agreement represents the first time ISP has licensed technology from Procter & Gamble, while similar agreements are currently under consideration. It also represents one of P&G's first personal care technology licenses since the consumer goods giant announced plans to make thousands of technologies available for licensing worldwide.
