Essence of Beauty Sensual Bath Fizz Tablets, sold exclusively at CVS/pharmacy, have been selected as a Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) 2001 Beauty Award Finalist in the Best New Bath or Body Treatment Product category (mass distribution division). Members of CEW, a 1,300 person organization composed of top beauty experts, selected Essence of Beauty Sensual Bath Fizz Tablets from hundreds of products. Criteria for the prestigious beauty awards include product packaging, innovation, sales performance, ingredients and product benefits, among others.
In its seventh year, the CEW Beauty Awards involves products in 16 distinct categories in both mass and limited distribution divisions. This year, category finalists were selected from 269 cosmetic, skincare and other beauty products.
Launched by CVS nationwide in Spring 2000, Essence of Beauty is an exclusive fruit scented and aromatherapy-based bath and body brand created by CVS/pharmacy. Essence of Beauty includes 75 individual products formulated from scents such as Kiwi, Raspberry, Vanilla Musk, Orchard Pear, Lavender and Peppermint.
"We were one of the first drugstore chains to create our own beauty brand, Essence of Beauty, and are absolutely delighted to have one of our products be recognized by the beauty industry after the collection has been on the market for less than a year," said Cheryl Mahoney, Vice President of Merchandising at CVS/pharmacy. "Since its launch, Essence of Beauty has become a best-seller especially among our beauty customers. It was important for us to create an accessible, high quality bath and body brand for our customers-the Bath Fizz Tablets, priced at $1.99, exemplifies this philosophy."
