Jo Malone, the British fragrance and skin care company that is partially owned by Estee Lauder, has opened a U.S. flagship store in New York's Flatiron building. According to the company, classic Jo Malone elements are combined with a new technological edge that aims to both educate the customer and provide a stimulating experience. With a design that encourages consumer interaction, the store allows customers to test Jo's skin care as well as experiment with fragrance combining.
The store features state-of-the-art fragrance sampling technology. The revolutionary Scent Booth allows the consumer to sample each of 11 scents alone or in any combination of two (a total of 121 possible scent impressions) within a pure environment that clears out completely between each trial. A touch of the 42" plasma screen prompts a scent menu. Choose from the spicy, heavy floral, light floral or citrus categories. Then, sit back; watch the accompanying themed video and experience the fragrance, as it is subtly released, along with pure air, through a special nozzle. When you're research is done, proceed to the demonstration table to sample the real thing.
