After a decade of working at Macy’s and with more than two decades of retail experience, Gail Gordon is leaving to start her own company. Gordon, VP of cosmetics at Macy’s East in NY and divisional merchandise manager, declined to give details but mentioned she was going to do something entrepreneurial-related. Before joining Macy’s East as a fragrance buyer in 1996, she worked on a TV network shopping show, spent four years as a cosmetic buyer for Bloomingdale’s, had been a merchandise manager for designer sportswear at the 59th Street location, and had been a group buyer for special-size apparel from 1984 to 1987.
