Beiersdorf Bounces Back in 2Q

After a flat first quarter, sales of Beiersdorf’s branded consumer division grew 5.9% in the second quarter and operating earnings jumped 11.7%
Sales for the consumer division, which includes the skin care brands Nivea, Eucerin, La Prairies, Juvena and others reached $1.26 billion.
The group said sales and profit growth was driven by successful product launches, particularly the introduction of a new Nivea Sun line and a new Nivea Pure deodorant in Europe. The Nivea men’s skin care series also continues to generate strong sales, in addition to the men’s balsam and facial care products.
