JAPAN: Pola Cosmetics, Inc., known for its door-to-door marketing method, plans to open 500 shops in China and other countries that will double as beauty salons. The firm will open the stores, called Pola The Beauty, mainly in China, where personal income is rising. The outlets will provide facial treatments and makeup services, as well as sell cosmetics.
The first two shops were launched in Shanghai, with two more scheduled to open in Beijing next year. Pola plans to have 200 outlets in China by 2010.
