UNITED KINGDOM: Israeli company Laline is opening a chain of stores in London. Laline, which makes and markets toiletries, recently opened its first branch in the Radlett shopping center in northern London. Six more stores are slated for opening in London by the end of 2006. Meirav Cohen and Revital Levi founded Laline in 1997. The company currently employees 85 workers in 12 stores across Israel, and has annual sales of $10 million. Mr. Levi indicated that the company plans to establish 30 branches around the UK.
“We are examining the market needs in other countries, and are in advanced negotiations with prospective franchise holders in France, the U.S., Japan, the Netherlands, Greece and the Philippines,” he said.
