The average family completes eight to 11 loads of laundry each week. This explains why a multi-functional and well-equipped laundry room ranks as “must have” for today’s homebuyers and owners. The laundry room is no longer hiding in a small closet or the back of the home anymore. Laundry rooms are now being located in more convenient areas. They are also being painted bright colors to make the room a more pleasurable place to work.
Today’s laundry rooms include innovative appliances that are more efficient and easy to use. Washers and dryers have “lifestyle” settings and can be adjusted for towels, baby’s clothes or items typically sent to the cleaners. Many laundry rooms include sinks for pre-soaking or cleaning. Plenty of easily accessible shelves, cabinets and drawers are becoming the norm to keep the laundry room organized. Laundry areas also include extra counter space and even cubbies.
A well-equipped laundry room is very important for today’s homeowners and can be explained by the average seven to nine hours spent on doing laundry per week.
