JAPAN: Sharp Corp. is marketing a dishwasher that cleans and dries dishes using ultrasonic waves and ions. The dishwasher does not rely on detergents, Sharp executives said. The ultrasonic waves create a hot mist that fills the machine during the first five minutes of the cycle and helps remove food particles stuck to dishes. The regular wash/dry cycle takes about 75 minutes, while the speed mode takes only 30 minutes.
