CMP Princeton announced last month that HBA Global Expo will now be known as Health and Beauty America. The name change reflects the growing involvement of wellness and personal care in the beauty industry, according to CMP Princeton executives.
The positioning coincides with HBA’s 10th anniversary and underscores the strength of HBA and its position as North America’s largest industry-specific event for the cosmetic, personal care and fragrance industries.
HBA organizers will introduce several industry-specific sectors within the show. Starting next year, the Personal Care Ingredients and Technology Expo (PCITX) will debut as “a show within a show,”
organizers said. PCITX will take place Oct. 21-23, 2003 in New York.
PCTIX will offer a forum for R&D departments of marketing and private label companies. Attendees will be able to explore new product development ideas with the introduction of new technologies while learning how costs can be reduced and efficiency of new and existing products can be improved.
“Over 10 years since it was launched, HBA has become our industry’s most comprehensive global sourcing exhibition and conference,” said Penni Jones, executive director, ICMAD, “and many of our members are regular exhibitors.” She added, “This expansion positions HBA for future growth and confirms the event as the definitive wellness and beauty event in America.”
HBA will also organize two separate mid-year educational forums. The forums will provide timely information on topics of importance to R&D and marketing executives.
The High Performance Ingredients and Emerging Technology world congress, will take place April 22 and 23, 2003 in New York. The Prestige Packaging and Design Symposium will take place simultaneously at the Roosevelt Hotel, New York.
“These changes will greatly benefit all our visitors,” said Jack Gonzalez, show director, HBA. “With specialized sectors on the show floor, beginning with PCITX, attendees will be able to spend their time at the event more efficiently and be totally immersed in the entire business of beauty and wellness.” He added that the sectorization process will be developed further during the next couple of years.
