Jafra Cosmetics International’s second quarter sales rose 2% to $98.1 million, but net income increased 101%, which was attributed to an increase in operating income and a lower effective tax rate. Net sales for the first six months of 2002 rose 8% to $197.2 million. Foreign currency exchange had no effect on sales growth.
