Researcher Offers Solution for Hair Loss

November 11, 2005

SINGAPORE: Dr. Lee Chee Wee has developed a hair loss treatment which includes tiny peptides (chains of amino acids) that prevent receptors in hair follicles from coming into contact with hormones that can cause them to fall out. The lotion has been tested on more than 100 balding men, according to Dr. Lee. The product, Biolyn Hair serum, was developed following research identifying specially treated molecules of plant origin that block the hormone DHT from entering and damaging the hair follicle.

“Hair will definitely grow back, but don’t expect the same lushness of youth, as some of the follicles would have been destroyed and these can't be saved,” Dr. Lee pointed out.

Dr. Lee's research was carried out with financial assistance of $450,000 from Hong Leong Finance Singapore. The product is currently being marketed through Global Nutraceutical Health.
