B. William Lee, founder, Aloecorp, was honored with the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) Hall of Fame award for outstanding pioneering efforts and achievements in aloe vera nutrition and education. Mr. Lee received the award at a board of directors meeting held prior to the IASC’s 20th annual scientific seminar in Seoul, Korea last September. Mr. Lee founded Aloecorp 13 years ago.
In addition to the honor, Mr. Lee was elected chairman of the board of IASC, after having served as the council’s president during the past year. He replaces Scott McKnight.
In other company news, Aloecorp honored Dr. Yin-Tung Wang with the Yun-Ho Lee award of scientific merit at the IASC annual meeting banquet dinner in Las Vegas on Sept. 1. Dr. Wang was honored with a plaque and a check for $10,000 for having conducted the most innovative and groundbreaking research on aloe vera in 2002. The award was based on Dr. Wang’s paper, “Severeness of leaf harvest and supplemental nutrients on long-term leaf initiation, growth and yield of aloe barbadensis miller.”
