Patent No. US 6,534,075 B1: Ecolab Inc., St. Paul, MN, patented a method of washing and reducing the microbial or viral count on food surfaces using a diluted aqueous solution. It comprises a quaternary or protonizable nitrogen compound, an oxidant, a halide source and an optional food grade acid.
