Greenwich, CT-based Blyth Inc. reported its third quarter profit climbed 18%, due in part to a recent acquisition. The company posted net income of $30.5 million for the quarter ended Oct. 31, compared to $25.9 million in the year-earlier period.
On Nov. 12 the company forecast a fiscal 2003 profit of more than $2 a share, before $.10 a share impact from an accounting change.
Sales rose 16% to $362.2 million, up from $313.3 million a year earlier. Sales were up 8% before results from CBK Ltd., the home decor company Blyth acquired last May.
