Sensient Technologies Corporation has acquired Carde Inc., a South Plain-field, NJ-based manufacturer of specialty ingredients used in cosmetics and other consumer products. The acquisition was completed on Sept. 30.
Cardre’s business will be merged with LCW in South Plainfield. LCW is the global cosmetic color and specialty ingredient division of Sensient Technologies. Gregg White, LCW’s general manager in North America, indicated that he and Drew Sujet, Cardre’s former owner (now new business development director for LCW in the U.S.), look forward to working together in the combined company. Plans are being made to combine manufacturing facilities in the near future.
Serge Grizzo, director general of LCW’s global activity, headquartered in France, reported that the Cardre acquisition will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen its positions in the U.S. territory and will enrich the company with new technologies and promising international developments. Mr. Sujet indicated that the association with Sensient’s color division, the global leader in manufacturing of FDA certified colors, inorganic pigments and specialty ingredients, will enhance the company’s ongoing capability to develop innovative pigment technologies.
Mr. Sujet will continue to introduce functional pigment and ingredient technologies to major cosmetics producers in his new role at LCW.
