l Excellence and creative achievement in the fragrance industry were honored during the Fragrance Foundation’s 31st annual FiFi awards on June 10. Winners were:
• Celebrity Fragrance Star of the Year: Jennifer Lopez;
• Women’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year—Mass Appeal (drug, chain stores, private label, direct sell): The Healing Garden Waters Sheer Passion, Coty Beauty U.S.;
• Women’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year—Luxe (specialty and/or department stores): Chance, Chanel;
• Women’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year—Nouveau Niche (specialty and/or department stores): Vera Wang, Unilever Prestige;
• Men’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year—Mass Appeal: Club Med My Ocean for Him, Coty Beauty U.S.;
• Men’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year—Luxe: Polo Ralph Lauren Blue, Ralph Lauren Fragrances;
• Men’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year—Nouveau Niche: Marc Jacobs Men, American Designer Fragrances LLC, Parfums Givenchy Inc.;
• Fragrance Hall of Fame: Eternity, Calvin Klein Cosmetics;
• Technological Breakthrough of the Year: Risdon-AMS delivery system for Crave, with a completely new side-actuated spray package;
• Bath and Body Star of the Year: Kate Spade Beauty;
• Best National Advertising Campaign (print and/or TV) in 2002 for an Established Women’s Fragrance: Chanel No. 5, Chanel;
• Best National Advertising Campaign (print and/or TV) in 2002 for an Established Men’s Fragrance: Ralph Lauren Romance Men, Ralph Lauren Fragrances;
• Interior Scent Collection of the Year: Tiffany scented candle prism crystal votive, single and mini collection, Tiffany & Co.;
• Men’s Packaging of the Year: Marc Jacobs Men, American Designer Fragrances LLC, Parfums Givenchy Inc.;
• Women’s Packaging of the Year: Vera Wang, Unilever Prestige;
• Editorial Excellence in Year-round Fragrance Coverage: Allure and
• Certified Sales Specialist Top Scorer: Carman Ferraioli, Nordstrom, Paramus, NJ.
The event was hosted by Tony award winner Harvey Fierstein. More than 1,500 members of the international fragrance community attended.
