Acquires Brut Brand
● Helen of Troy Ltd. executives announced
that the company will acquire from
Unilever the rights to the Brut brand
in the U.S., Canada and the rest of the
Western Hemisphere.
Unilever will receive $55 million
cash in the transaction, executives
said. Idelle Labs Ltd., a Helen of Troy
subsidiary, will market and sell the
Brut line of products.
Helen of Troy will receive the existing
inventory of the Brut products,
which includes Brut fragrances,
deodorants and antiperspirants. The
agreement is expected to close in the
fourth quarter. ●
