Patent No. US 6,645,931 B1: Kao Corp., Tokyo, Japan, patented a solid-shaped detergent with water-dissolving detergent particles that can release a bubble from an inner portion of the particle. The base particles support surfactant and/or detergent particles and contain a water-insoluble inorganic compound, water-soluble polymer and water-soluble salt. The base particles are obtained by spray-drying a surfactant-free slurry.
