l Approximately 790 attendees went to Luxe Pack New York in June. The two-day exhibition combined 40 showcases from leading manufacturers of glass, plastic, metal and paper packaging, as well as two seminars on design and branding organized by Marc Rosen of Marc Rosen Associates, New York.
In other news, Luxe Pack Monaco will offer the first Monaco Luxe Pack Design award for professional designers. With five preliminary competitions in the U.S., France, Germany, Italy and Brazil, the final competition will be held at 2003 Luxe Pack Monaco, October 22-25. A finalist from each country will receive approximately $2000 to create a three-dimensional model of his or her design, as well as travel expenses and accommodations. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 and a trophy. Judges hail from such organizations as The Fragrance Foundation, Ralph Lauren and Estée Lauder. The event is sponsored by Luxe Pack Monaco, the Principality of Monaco, Societé des Bains des Mer/Monte Carlo Resort and the Grimali Forum Monaco exhibition center. The deadline for entries is August 15.
