Luzenac’s Talc Products Produced in Houston Plant

November 14, 2005

Luzenac has consolidated all production of personal care talc products to its Houston, TX mill. The move follows the shutdown of the company’s 30,000 ton a year operation in West Windsor, VT.

Luzenac executives cited rising costs of talc imported from China and increasing ocean freight rates as two of the primary reasons for the change.

According to company executives, the Houston mill will allow the company to continue to supply products that meet USP, CTFA, FCC and EP/BP/JP standards.
