PCMC Lays Off
200 Employees
● On Aug. 4, Paper Converting Machine
Company (PCMC) laid off 212 employees
at its Ashland Ave., Green Bay, WI
facility.
“The layoff is the result of two factors,”
said Frederick Baer, president
and chief executive officer, PCMC.
“First (is) a restructuring by PCMC tomove work from its Ashland Ave. facility
to lower-cost sites, both its other
operating sites in Green Bay and to
sources external to the company.” The
second factor, Mr. Baer said, “is the
slowing of incoming orders for new
machinery.”
PCMC executives said the company
is communicating with government
agencies to assist in helping the affected
employees find new employment
and training.
