Roche and LC United Reach

November 14, 2005

Roche Vitamins has reached an import- ant long-term agreement with LC United of Taiwan for the production of its Parsol brand UV filters: Parsol 1789, the world-leading UV-A filter, and UV-B filters Parsol MXC, Parsol 5000, Parsol 340 and water-soluble Parsol HS.
Roche and Givaudan, after seven years of successful collaboration, have mutually agreed to cease production of Parsol filters at Givaudan’s Vaernier, Switzerland facility by the end of this year, company executives said.
The collaboration with LC United allows Roche to continue its global leadership in the supply of high-quality UV filters to the cosmetic industry, and gives it the option of broadening its range of UV protection solutions.
LC United and its cGMP facilities will, thanks to the combined production expertise of the companies, deliver material conforming exactly to existing Roche specifications.
