Broomfield, CO-based Unigen Pharma-ceuticals Inc. announced a collaborative plant collection agreement with BioResources International Inc. (BRI), a researcher and commercial developer of high-value natural products from tropical biodiversity.
BRI will source, collect and identify plants with ethnomedical use that are idigenous to Ghana and will provide Unigen with historical usage and taxonomic data. Unigen will utilize chemistry and high-throughput screening to fractionate the plant actives and discover new actives for use in nutritional supplements, food and beverages and cosmeceuticals
