Biocides Market Expected to Reach $1.87 Billion by 2008

The $1.6 billion biocides market is expected to grow 3.2% a year to reach $1.87 billion in 2008, according to Norwalk, CT-based Business Communications Company’s (BCC) “RC-224R Biocides” report. The largest biocides markets include swimming pool and spa disinfectants, paper slimicides, wood preservatives and personal care products. Mainly driven by protection against infection, BCC said the bulk of the biocides market, 55%, consists of halogenated compounds, inorganic compounds and quaternaries.
