Degussa Corp. has purchased the hydro-gen peroxide assets of PT Risjad Brasali Peroxida from Risjad Brasali Industries, Jakarta, Indonesia.
The new company, PT Degussa Peroxide Indonesia, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Degussa AG, Düsseldorf, Germany. The company will base its operations at the plant site in the Cikareng Industrial Estate, just outside of Jakarta.
The plant currently produces 10,000 metric tons of hydrogen peroxide annually. Executives said Degussa will immediately invest to raise the annual capacity to 24,000 metric tons.
“Acquisition of the plant will strengthen Degussa’s position in Asia, and shows Degussa’s commitment to the hydrogen peroxide business, both regionally and globally,” said Shawn Abrams, head of Degussa’s active oxygen business.
