Diamond Packaging, Rochester, NY, earned six awards at the 61st annual Paperboard Packaging Competition. The awards were announced during the annual spring meeting, March 14-16 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.
The competition, sponsored by the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC), provides members with an opportunity to display new packaging designs and productions and to promote winning packages to customers.
Diamond Packaging produced all of the packaging components and provided fulfillment services for Murray Sons and Co. Ltd.’s holiday promotion for the Dunhill line of cigars, which consisted of Churchill, Toro, Torpedo, Corona, Robusto and Petit Corona cigars.
Entries were judged in 30 different categories against three criteria: members’ internal production/converting excellence; consumer product company excellence and end-user/retailer consumer excellence.
In other news, Diamond Packaging designed and manufactured the display for L’Oréal USA/Matrix Essentials’ new Amplify line of hair styling products. Diamond eliminated multiple components and created a structure that is easy to assemble, executives said. The display has a secondary rear panel that is glued to the fifth panel for a 3-D appearance.
