The Monell Chemical Senses Center, a taste, smell and chemo- sensory irritation research institute in Philadelphia, received a capital campaign contribution commitment of $500,000 from Firmenich Inc., Geneva, Switzerland.
Monell’s goal is to raise $10 million to expand its facilities. The fundraising effort is expected to allow Monell’s team of collaborative scientists to conduct new and enhanced chemosensory research.
“We’re very grateful for Firmenich’s generous contribution,” commented Gary K. Beauchamp, Ph.D, center president and director. “They’re a forward-looking company and we appreciate their support of our expanding research here at Monell.”
