Unlike declining sales of the past three years, reports showed low-single-digit gains in women’s prestige fragrance sales around Mother’s Day in May. Many retailers attributed the sales rise to classic fragrances such as Chanel No.5, Eternity by Calvin Klein, Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan and Beautiful by Estée Lauder. Of the newer scents, retailers said Beyond Paradise, Very Irresistible, Kenneth Cole Black, Trouble, Attraction and Island Kiss fared well.
