Patent No. 6,649,401: Novozomes Bio-logicals, Inc., Salem, VA, earned a pat-ent for a microorganism strain that degrades the long-chain fatty acids responsible for grease-related problems in wastewater collection and treatment. It is also active in low pH environments often associated with grease traps, collection systems and other places where grease collects.
