CHINA: L’Oréal reported a 70% gain in sales in China to $180 million in 2003. Since arriving in China in 1997, L’Oréal has invested $120 million to expand the market share and purchased three famous Chinese cosmetic companies, including Yue-Sai and Mininurse. The company will also open its fourth global hair dyeing product development center in Shanghai this year.
