The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA) signed an alliance agreement with the Occu-pational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the American Chemistry Council, the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS), the Chlorine Institute, the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center and the National Association of Chemical Distributors to develop and disseminate tools to assist the industry in better identifying and managing chemical reactivity hazards.
The alliance will build upon existing tools such as the CCPS publication “Essential Practices for Managing Chemical Reactivity Hazards.”
Free distribution of the CCPS publication has been made possible by SOCMA, OSHA, EPA, CCPS and the American Chemistry Council.
