Wella and Gucci: Will the Marriage Continue?

GERMANY: Industry insiders report that Gucci has found a loophole in its long-term fragrance agreement with Wella, which was not renewed before Nov. 30, 2001. Wella executives said the license is valid until Nov. 30, 2028. The agreement started in 1978 under the Meulhens portfolio, which consolidated under Cosmopolitan Cosmetics in the 1990s.
