Ahlstrom has added a new $40 million pro- duction line at its facility in Windsor Locks, CT. Ahlstrom executives said the investment underscores the Windsor Locks site as Ahlstrom’s largest nonwoven manufacturing site and center of excellence for the company’s nonwoven business.
“This new expanded capacity recognizes the strength and growth potential of the dynamic wipes market, as well as Ahlstrom’s intention to invest in technically superior products for next-generation applications,” said Jukka Moisio, president of Ahlstrom’s FiberComposites division.
“The wipes market continues to call for high performance, value-priced wipe materials that are soft, strong and embossed,” added Randal Davis, vice president of the FiberComposites division’s consumer and medical business. “The process in Windsor Locks is state-of-the-art, with flexibility that can leverage the use of multiple fibers and various treatments, and can incorporate a wide range of technologies to deliver functionality and value.”
