Clariant Masterbatches Division announced its new Latin American business unit headquarters in Brazil and new manufacturing plant in Argentina (above). The Brazilian facility also includes a manufacturing plant and a collaborative design center, Color-Works Studio, where customers can get help in developing color.
The headquarters for the new Latin American Masterbatches is located near the main offices of important Brazilian customers, according to Sérgio Mastrorosa, head of Clariant Masterbatches Latin America. The location, in Suzano east of Sao Paulo, will allow Masterbatches to maximize synergy with other Clariant divisions, particularly Pigments and Additives, which has a technical development lab in the same facility.
The new 2,700 square-meter manufacturing building was a $1.1 million investment, including installation of silo-storage and pneumatic-conveying systems, which are expected to improve efficiency and speed to market.
“With this investment, Clariant is creating a solid basis for expanding our activities in Latin America, increasing our service level and strengthening our presence by combining our global reach with local supply,” said Mr. Mastrorosa.
Plastics industry processors in Brazil, Argentina and neighboring countries can expect improved access to technical services and accelerated response times now that Clariant Masterbatches has expanded its operations in the region, according to company executives.
The company has had a sales presence in Argentina since 1997, importing products there from Brazil, NAFTA and Europe. Masterbatches maintains additional Latin American production facilities in Colombia and Venezuela, as well as sales offices in many other Latin American countries.
