Hawaiian Tropic was also recognized at the Dupont Packaging awards competition, where it received the Silver award for the Oil Free Faces SPF 30 sunblock package. The package features a matte blue translucent flamingo pump that sits atop a pearlescent white package. It also has a built-in functional mirror that has caught the eye of consumers, according to company executives.
“This package reflects the consumer’s wants
and needs in a daily sunblock,” said Stephanie Mellenberndt, director of marketing for Hawaiian Tropic. “We have been able to meet the two major trends of consumers—convenience and portability."
