The Monell Chemical Senses Center, a research institute dedicated to taste, smell and chemosensory irritation in Philadelphia, received a capital campaign contribution commitment of $500,000 from International Flavors and Fragrances, Inc. (IFF). Monell is currently in a proactive capital campaign with the goal of raising $10 million for expansion of its facilities. For its contribution, IFF receives naming rights to a new laboratory and will do so in honor of late IFF chief executive
officer and Monell founder Henry G. Walter, Jr.
“We’re very grateful for IFF’s generous contribution,” said Gary K. Beauchamp, Ph.D., Center president and director. “We appreciate their support of our expanding research here at Monell, especially in memory of our colleague Hank Walter.”
