Leo Weinstein, founder and president of Levlad, Inc., Chatsworth, CA, died on July 30 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Russia, Mr. Weinstein immigrated to the U.S. with his brother, Vladimir, in 1961. Together, they sold their Rainwater Herbal shampoo out of their Venice Beach herb shop, which led to the Nature’s Gate brand of products.
Mr. Weinstein co-founded and sponsored Newellink USA, which researches and develops drugs to cure cancer. He is survived by his wife, three children, Vladimir, his mother and two sisters. Contributions in his memory are being accepted by Newellink USA. More info: Newellink, 1115 Elkton Drive, Third floor, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
