Procter & Gamble introduced Tide Coldwater, a laundry detergent designed to clean in lower temperatures, in January. Company executives said Tide Coldwater provides a deep clean that is fabric- and color-safe. Product development was fueled by consumer desire to reduce high energy bills, according to P&G executives. “Our research tells us that most consumers recognize and value the benefits of washing in cold water, primarily fabric protection and money and energy savings,” said Julie Woffington, Tide brand manager.
