The Skin Cancer Foundation, New York, will honor Philip Shearer, group president of Clinique, Estée Lauder, and Timothy Rothwell, president and chief executive officer of the North American arm of Sanofi-Aventis, at the 25th Anniversary Skin Sense Award Gala. It will be held Oct. 19 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
The awards recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of skin care and skin cancer. Mr. Shearer has helped to develop and promote a wide range of sun protection products from Clinique and The Estée Lauder Cos. Mr. Rothwell oversees Dermik Laborator-ies, makers of CaracR.
The Foundation will also honors a consumer magazine with the Excel-lence in Media award for an article that has increased public awareness of early detection and prevention of skin cancer. More info: (212) 725-5176; E-mail: msilverstein@skincancer.org.
