Changes in the development, licensing and marketing of cosmetics will be explored at “Beyond Tomorrow: The Future of Global Cosmetics,” on Oct. 29 at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Katie Murphy Amphitheatre, Seventh Avenue at 27th Street, New York, NY, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The conference, presented by FIT’s Bachelor of Science Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing program in the School of Business and Technology, will feature four panels of experts in the cosmetics and personal care industry. FIT President Dr. Joyce F. Brown will speak at the forum, which is designed for middle-management executives. Lynne Greene, president, Specialty Group Worldwide, Estée Lauder Companies, will be the keynote speaker for the day-long seminar.
Licensing and regulatory issues will be examined by Jean Pierre Barrere of UNITIS, and Steve Hoch of Neostrata Company. Natural raw materials will be discussed by Dr. Daniel Weingart Barretto of Assessu and Federal University of Rio de Janiero; Jean-Yves Berthon of Greentech and Pierre Charlier de Chily of Aldivia, S.A.
New skin care products, fragrances and color cosmetics will be presented by Dr. Gillian Briggs of Procter & Gamble; Dan Fryda of Spa Technologies and Raymond Nadeau of Coty’s New Ideas division. Emerging global markets will be explored by Paul Austin of Quest; Peter Lichtenhal of Estée Lauder; Heidi Manheimer of Shiseido Cosmetics, America Ltd., and Tracy Young of Coty.
