The Ciba Specialty Chemicals Foundation honored two teachers and two principals at the National Science Teachers Association’s convention in Dallas, TX. The awards were presented to elementary, middle and high school science teachers and principals who find ways to capture their students’ imaginations when it comes to science. Vivian B. Brent, principal of New Franklin Elementary, New Franklin, MO, won the exemplary elementary science principal award for leadership in science education; Deborah T. Boros, a teacher at Mississippi Elementary, Coon Rapids, MN, received the exemplary elementary science teaching award; Kristi Jefferson, principal of Freedom Middle School, Franklin, TN, was given the middle and high school level principal award and Kimberly Reining-Gray, a science teacher at Central High School, Macon, GA, was presented with the middle and high school level science teacher award.
