The Dow Chemical Company, Midland, MI, is evaluating investment options for expansion and capacity to meet the growing global demand for its line of ethnolamines. The amines business is working with Union Carbide Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, on options regarding possible expansion of the ethanolamines facility in Hahnville, LA. This facility practices a mono- ethanolamine (MEA) selective process and is well suited to service the growing demand for MEA in the merchant market and in Dow’s ethyleneamines production process.
