December 9, 2005

In an ongoing effort to meet the needs of the Chinese market, International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. conducted a comprehensive study to define the major population segments of China. IFF’s “Five Faces of China,” examines the entire Chinese market to understand more about the geographic and demographic segmentation of the country and the differences in consumer behavior and expectations. The research performed by IFF’s sensory and consumer insight experts details the living conditions, beliefs and economic status of each “face” and focuses on the type of consumer products each group purchases or aspires to purchase, as well as their key drivers in selecting those products.
