ISRAEL: Israel’s cosmetics and cosmetic products exports to Russia and the Ukraine rose 15% in 2004 to $11 million. Intercosma general manager Yehuda Braun said the most prominent Israeli cosmetics exporters to Russia were companies whose products combined ingredients from the Dead Sea with added health value, such as sun blockers, products that protect against jellyfish and acne treatments. Israel’s cosmetics industry had $50 million in exports in 2004, 10% more than in 2003. Thirty one percent of exports go to the EU, 25% to the U.S. and 20% to Russia and the Ukraine.
